meetingThe Morris County Cancer Coalition is a voluntary community service organization of cancer service providers, community organizations, and members of the general public. It was initiated in 2004 and acts to strengthen the cancer care services available to Morris County residents by formulating and implementing a range of projects. The Coalition’s work is carried out using current factual material that identifies cancer and its consequences in the county.

The Coalition acts to implement the strategies of the NJ-Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan, an official policy of the state. It is supported by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services – Office of Cancer Control and Prevention with a financial grant from the New Jersey department of Health and Senior Services – Office of cancer Control and Prevention that supports the activities of its coordinator.

cancerdataThe Coalition works with resources volunteered locally and can act to obtain grant funds for its work.  It can also support other organizations to obtain funds for their programs.

The county coalition unites individuals and organizations that provide and receive cancer services. No such organization otherwise exists. Members have access to the facts of cancer as they affect Morris County residents and the “cancer system” of service delivery, and are then able to cooperatively plan and implement projects.
